                               RESOLUTION NO. 18798
                  
                  
                   A RESOLUTION RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING THE
                   CITY'S HOUSING ASSISTANCE PLAN AND AMENDING
                   THE SECOND YEAR GOALS OF THE HOUSING
                   ASSISTANCE PLAN.
                  
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 WHEREAS, the City of Chattanooga has a Housing
       Assistance Plan setting forth goals for assisted housing for the
       period of October 1988 through October 1991 which has not been
       formally adopted; and
       	    	 WHEREAS, the Chattanooga Housing Authority has requested
       that said Housing Assistance Plan be amended by adding a goal of
       twelve (12) 2-bedroom units and five (5) 3-bedroom units under 
the
       Section 8 Project Based Certificate (Demolition) Program; and
       	    	 WHEREAS, said project based certificates are necessary
       to replace public housing units proposed for demolition at Edward 

       F. Steiner Apartments, Project TN 4-16;
       	    	 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
       THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That the Housing Assistance
       Plan, a copy of which is attached hereto, for the period of
       October 1988 through October 1991 be ratified and confirmed and
       then the same be amended to include said units as set forth in 
the
       revised goals and narrative attached hereto and made a part 
hereof
       by reference.
       	    	 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Mayor of the City of
       Chattanooga be and is hereby authorized and directed to certify
       the above action on behalf of the City of Chattanooga and to
       furnish any additional information or material required by the
       Department of Housing and Urban Development.
